Student Placements

In Carlow Regional Youth Service, we recognise that Supervised Professional Practice (SPP) is an integral part of learning for Youth & Community students.
We value the contribution made to our organisation by students and aim to provide a Supervised Professional Practice that is valuable to students.

Supervised Student Placements

As a youth work organisation, students of youth and community courses are ideally suited to avail of these placement opportunities, however we will also consider applications from related fields once we meet the criteria for you to pass your course.

We offer four placements per term across the service. These are centre based in The Vault, Bagenalstown, Tullow, Community based between Fruithill/ Tullow Road and  in Afterschools.

The placement student will assist youth workers in the planning and delivery of a number of programmes for young people, have the opportunity to link theoretical knowledge to youth work practice and gain an overall understanding of youth service provision.
