Carlow Community Summer Camp

Community Summer Camp has been running successfully in Carlow for years as a low cost, non-profit making project. The organisation of the camp is reliant on community support to provide the resources, people and venues to enable the successful running of the camp. There are various avenues of support from the community including:

  • Provision of local and community Venues
  • Volunteers
  • Funding from Local Sponsors
  • Local Authorities

The Community Summer Camp caters for young people between the ages of 8 and 12 years and this year is divided into two venues in Carlow town. The Camp will run the second week of July 7th – 11th.

Among the activities being organised for summer camp are; arts and crafts, games, library trips, table quizzes, songs, scavenger hunts, and various day trips. All activities had full participation from young people and leaders and were enjoyed by all involved! For many the highlights of the week were the day trips to a number of different venues.
