Period Positivity Initiative

Studies in Ireland have shown that nearly 50% of Irish teenagers struggle to afford period products such as tampons, pads, period cups or pain killers.

We want to do our part to help young people in our community by providing free period products in all of our projects. We think it’s time to end the stigma around periods and believe they shouldn’t be hidden. Normalising conversations about periods can make it easier for people to come forward and ask for the help they need.

We offer free period products, no questions asked in the following buildings –

  • The Vault – 11 Burrin Street, Carlow Town.
  • Bishops House – Old Chapel Lane, Tullow.
  • Gleann na Bearu Community Building – Bagenalstown.
  • 48 John Sweeney Park, Tullow Road, Carlow.
  • 40 Chestnut Drive, Fruithill, Graiguecullen, Carlow.
  • 32 Cill an Oir, Graiguecullen, Carlow.
  • Montgomery House, Athy Road, Carlow.
